First Thanks...Then Giving! - Thanksgiving Classroom Door Decoration
No reviews
We are constantly amazed at what can be done with a Cricut {and other personal cutting machines} these days! Here's a beautiful Thanksgiving door display we found over at Daily Grace Creations - it was designed by Donna for her son's fourth grade classroom. We just love the mix of fall colors, the attention to detail, and the seasonal message!
Thanksgiving Door Display
Without a Cricut you may not get exactly the same results, but here's what we would do...
- Background: Cover the top two-thirds with royal blue bulletin board paper and the bottom third with green background paper.
- Title: "Thanksgiving - First Thanks, Then Giving!"
- Border: Fall pop-up border. We love how Donna scripted each students' name onto a pumpkin cutout and incorporated them in the border!
- Decoration: 1) The Trees. Either freehand the tree cutouts onto brown background paper or find a clip art image online that can be enlarged and traced using your classroom projector system. [If you're artistic, you might even decide to paint the trees directly onto the blue paper.] 2) The Wheelbarrow & Fence. Follow the same process for both the wheelbarrow and fence. We love the stark contrast of the light blue and white paper paper Donna used. They stick out, while also making the surrounding fall colors pop! 3) The Fall Elements. Last, but not least, add fun fall elements to the scene - pumpkins, colorful leaves, gourds, a classroom sign {i.e. Mrs. Nelson's Pumpkin Patch, etc.} and anything else you might think of! Find black and white clip art images online that can be printed directly onto colored card stock and cut out, or create master leaf, pumpkin, etc. templates from card stock and use these to trace and cut shapes from colored paper.
