Read MoreValentine's Day is an exciting time for many children in school. Oftentimes they get to:
- Have a fun classroom party
- Write special messages to their friends and family
- Do creative art and craft projects
These fun activities can be incorporated into the classroom with ease by simply purchasing things like bulletin board sets or making the materials needed to celebrate this fun holiday.
Valentine's Day Bulletin Board Ideas
Valentine's Day is one of the most celebrated holidays in all of February, and there are many ways you can integrate it into your classroom experience. It makes sense that kids would love a holiday that often involves candy and boxes of chocolates!
Valentine sweethearts
Decorate your classroom with a bunch of red paper hearts in various sizes. You can also cut out several different shapes, including circles, squares, or triangles.
Paste them around the entire room to cover blank/bare spaces. To add some fun to this bulletin board idea, hang several cut-out shapes with the word LOVE underneath.
Valentine's day door decor
Red is also the color most often used to decorate for Valentine's day as it represents love. Decorating your doors for this occasion is a perfect way to begin the day. You can cut out several small hearts or use red construction paper to create window clings with messages like:- I love you
- Be mine
- My valentine
- Hugs
Each child will participate by decorating their heart-shaped box of chocolates using different objects found around the classroom.
Valentine's Day Quotes
There are countless ways you can decorate for this occasion, but one sure way to get the kids involved is by using popular greeting cards. Get everyone involved by having them come up with their special messages for the cards like "Happy Valentine's Day to my best friend!" or "I love you a hole punch!"
Conversation Hearts
Some children are familiar with the candy hearts called conversation hearts. They could make their own variations out of construction paper and write their own sayings on them.
Envelope Valentines
Another fun idea you can incorporate into your Valentine's Day party at school is to have each of the students bring an envelope and decorate it using different types of materials, such as:- Construction paper
- Glitter glue
- Crayons
- Markers
- Lace
- 3D shapes
- Glitter
- Etc.
Have them fill out a note or card to put in the envelope before giving it to their special valentine.
Bible Verses About Love
Here are some quotes about love from the scriptures that could be used for this occasion in your Sunday school class:
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.
Jeremiah 31:3
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Chinese New Year Bulletin Board Ideas
The Chinese zodiac has 12 animals representing various years within this cycle, which ends at the year of the pig. There are several ways to incorporate this topic into your class for this holiday.
1. Use the zodiac animal for each month and place it at the top of a long strip of paper with numbers 1-12 on it. Write the name of one child per animal at the bottom. Then, have them stand up in order from smallest to largest.
2. You can also decorate your classroom with the animal of the month.
3. The Chinese zodiac can be used to decorate your bulletin board for this holiday by cutting out the animals and their symbols and arranging them in rows at the top.
Groundhog Day Bulletin Board Ideas
Will he see his shadow or not? That is the ultimate question. Here's some fun groundhog day bulletin board ideas to celebrate this silly holiday.
Black History Month Bulletin Board Ideas
One of the most well-known writers known today is Maya Angelou, an author, and poet during the Civil Rights movement. Using a quote from her in your class can go a long way toward spreading awareness among your pupils.
National Children's Dental Health Month Bulletin Board Ideas
In addition to making sure your students get enough sleep, drink water throughout the day, and eat high-quality foods, it is also crucial to ensure they practice good dental hygiene too.
One fun activity you can do is to let them decorate a toothbrush and give it to someone special (teacher, parent, sibling, etc.)
