Harvest Fun - Scented Sand Art
We first stumbled upon Growing A Jeweled Rose this summer and, with her crafty activities and art project ideas, Crystal's blog has become a fast favorite! Last week we featured her pumpkin scented paint - a fabulous addition to your fall craftivities - but we couldn't pass up her fun scented sand art idea! Again, very simple to make and we're certain it will be a hit with the kiddos!
Spices you might consider for Thanksgiving...
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Apple pie spice
- Vanilla powder
Crystal and her kiddos added pumpkin spice to black art sand and used it to create jack-o-lanterns for Halloween. Since Halloween has since passed, to update the craft for fall and/or Thanksgiving, you might consider adding the same scent or different scents to colored art sand, using craft glue to trace around fall leaves and sprinkle sand (like glitter) over the sand or even trace the feathers of a colorful turkey cutout.
