We've Got the Scoop on FUN! - Ice Cream Classroom Door Decorating Idea
We've got the "scoop" on next year's welcome door display! Try this adorable ice cream sundae board, complete with dynamic colors, fun craft, and refreshing summer theme!
Ice Cream Sundaes
Provide your kiddos with the ice cream sundae template, inviting them to trace and cut sundae bowls and scoops of ice cream from the card stock. You might also consider printing the templates directly onto colored paper for your students to cut out. Have students arrange their bowls and scoops, gluing them together. Using empty plastic condiment squeeze bottles full of brown craft paint, have your students add "hot fudge" to their sundaes, sprinkling colorful baking sprinkles over the wet paint. Set aside to dry. When dry, mount the sundae onto a piece of card stock. Using homemade puffy paint [i.e. equal parts craft glue and shaving cream], have your kiddos add "whipped cream" to their sundaes along with a red pom pom "cherry". Set aside to dry. When dry, cut out the ice cream cutouts for your bulletin board! [NOTE: If you're worried about the puffy paint, you could also glue cotton balls to the top of the sundae to create the whipped cream.]
