Paper Spider Web Tutorial
All I can say is, wow! Vanessa, paper spider web extraordinaire and creator of the blog, A Fanciful Twist, not only created these fabulous fall/Halloween decorations, but provides a fantastic tutorial on how to make them for yourself! While they may not be able to attempt the trickier designs, we think the simple web cutout would even be a great exercise for your elementary students - they'll learn to follow directions {to the letter!}, hone fine motor coordination, and have a blast exploring the cause/effect relationship of their snips and cuts on the folded paper.
Supplies You'll Need
- Printer paper
- Scissors
- Spray paint in assorted colors {glitter and regular}
We suggest letting the kiddos do the cutting part, then take the finished webs home to spray paint {mostly because of the mess and the fumes!}. When completely dry, string the webs together to create a festive garland, hang the cutouts from a door/window frame or ceiling, or use them as fabulous bulletin board decorations!
