It's a bird! It's a plane!... - Superhero Back-To-School Board
No reviews
Tiffany over at From Pedicures To Puddles created this adorable superhero themed welcome board that we thought would make a fabulous addition to your classroom inspiration folder ...just in case you're already looking into next year's decorations! We're always curious as to why different classroom themes are chosen - there are, after all, a ton of options - and we loved what Tiffany had to say about it,
"I decided on a Superhero theme and have run wild with it. I really like the idea of encouraging [my first graders] to see that our good manners and kind words are our super powers."
Superhero Welcome Board
- Background: Cover the entire board with sky blue or cloud printed background paper. Use scissor to cut a large rectangular piece of white bulletin board paper, scalloping the edge to look like a giant cloud/comic book speech bubble, and arrange it in the center of the board.
- Title: "It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's ___________ [Mrs. Nelson's, etc.] SUPER LEARNERS!"
- Border: None needed.
- Decoration: Use scrapbook papers or patterned fabrics to create a bunting, hanging it across the top of the board. Script student names onto yellow star cutouts and arrange them around the board. Finally, to add a little fun and some dimension, Tiffany added several 3D elements to go along with the title - a bird on a piece of wire and a folded paper airplane with a dashed line to show movement!
