"Hooked On Jobs!" Ocean Themed B2S Bulletin Board Idea
No reviews
An ocean theme is one of our favorites for summer time and back-to-school season! The colors. The fun props. The cutesy word play. We can't get enough of it!
If you're considering an ocean theme, be sure to check out this awesome classroom jobs bulletin board designed by Rhonda Raheem! The three-dimensional fishing pole and netting is super fun, and we love the use of color!
Hooked On Jobs!
- Background: Cover the entire bulletin board with white background paper. Create the 'ocean waves' by cutting various sized pieces of light blue and aqua blue bulletin board paper, scrunching up the pieces, and collaging them to the bottom of the bulletin board.
- Title: "Hooked On Jobs!"
- Border: Ocean themed trimmer or complimentary colored/patterned bulletin board border.
- Decoration: 1) The Fishing Net. Purchase netting by the yard at your local craft store or find a toy hammock, arranging the netting in the ocean waves at the bottom of the board. 2) The Fishing Pole. Use a toy fishing pole if you have one, otherwise consider creating your own 3D pole with a dowel rod, yarn, and a paper clip! Danielle Gaudin shared these colorful DIY fishing poles on Pinterest if you need some inspiration! 3) The Animal Accents. Purchase or create ocean animal accents - fish, jellyfish, crabs, etc. - to place around the bulletin board. 4) The Job Pockets. Add colorful pocket shapes around the bulletin board, penning job titles on the cutouts. For a fun touch, create ocean themed job titles - i.e. "Lead Lobster" (line leader), "Computer Clam" (tech aide), etc. To assign jobs, simply write student names onto jumbo craft sticks or pieces of colored card stock and slide them into the appropriate pocket.
