Cereal Box Snow People
The holidays may be over, but for many, winter (the season of snow!) has just begun! For those of you stuck inside and looking for a fun craft to ease away the winter blues, try this recycled cereal box snowman from Amanda Formaro - featured craft designer at Kaboose!
Supplies You'll Need
- Recycled cereal or cracker box
- 2 foam coffee cups
- Painting sponges
- Kids paint brushes
- White, yellow, and black craft paint
- Light blue, yellow, and orange construction paper
- Crayola® crayons
- Crayola® markers
- School glue
- Kids scissors
Students are sure to become absorbed in each step of the creating process: sponge painting the box white to create a 'snow-like' texture, finger painting the snowman's eyes and mouth, using a variety of mediums - paint, construction paper, and recycled cups - to create winter clothing, and finally, using different graphic art tools to place the finishing touches on their cereal box snow people! Be sure to visit Formaro's full post for step-by-step instructions, helpful pictures, and other great craft hints!
