Johnny Appleseed Day - Handprint Apple Tree Craft
If you're planning to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day with your kiddos this September, here's a fun craft from Pinterest {via moremillers.blogspot.com} that we know will be a hit! It can't get any better than using your hands to paint!
The craft is quite simple. First, invite your students to use their fingers dipped in brown craft paint to create the tree trunk and tree roots. After cleaning the brown paint from their fingers, have your kiddos use a paint brush to paint their entire hand with green craft paint, adding several full handprints atop the trunk to create the leaves on the tree. The final step is to create fingerprint 'apples' with red, yellow, and/or light green craft paint!
The colorful trees would make an excellent decoration for your classroom!
