Independence Day Craft - Freedom Collages!
If you're looking for a simple craft to do with your kiddos over the 4th of July holiday, here's a great suggestion from Allison over at No Time For Flash Cards. Not only is it super patriotic, it offers a chance to use up some scraps and leftover art supplies that have been cluttering up the craft closet!
Supplies You'll Need
- Art paper
- White school glue
- Patriotic supplies - scrapbook paper, ribbon, chenille stems, cupcake liners, star shaped foam cutouts/buttons, craft paint, glitter, etc.
Cut the scrapbook paper into simple shapes - i.e. rectangles, triangles, etc. - and show your kiddos how to make 'rockets', adding ribbon and sparkly chenille stems to the bottom as streamers. Curl the chenille stems to create 'fireworks'. Use chenille stems and glitter to fashion 'sparklers'. Along with brushes, use the ribbon, cupcake liners, and chenille stems to paint. The possibilities are endless! With so much to use and explore, the finished freedom collages are sure to be super colorful and perfect for the holiday!
