Gum Ball Words Literacy Center
We found this great literacy center idea at Kids Count 1234, a site created by educational consultant, Shari Sloane.
Here's what you'll need...
- Gum ball machine {or a similar container}
- Glass gems
- Mod Podge
- Word labels
- Gum ball recording sheet {available for FREE at Kids Count 1234!}
The process - use the Mod Podge to attach the word labels to the glass gems then have students take turns picking out a "gum ball", identifying the word, and copying it onto their recording sheet. This is a fun and unique way to get your kiddos exposure to new vocabulary/high frequency words and provide them with handwriting/printing practice!
