Descriptive Groundhogs
We totally fell in love with this Groundhog Day lesson plan from Traci over at Dragonflies in First! A great way to review the five senses and help your kiddos brush up on adjectives, Traci's writing prompt, "Groundhog Phil's Fascinating World", will have your kiddos describing what Phil saw, heard, smelled, and felt when he poked his head out of his burrow! Big, tall trees. Large, cheering crowds. Fresh, baked pie. Cold, gusty wind. Traci suggests brainstorming as a class, having your kinders finish the simple sentences in their emergent readers, and then craft construction paper groundhogs to complete the craftivity!
The best part is Traci offers the emergent reader printable and craft template for sale at her TPT and TN stores! Be sure to head over to Dragonflies in First for the full lesson and links to the activity!
