3 Fabulous Spring Gardening Themed Math Centers!
Have you checked out Julie Lee's amazing kinder site, Mrs. Lee's Kindergarten? If you haven't - do! We promise you'll be inspired! Since spring has officially sprung (at least on the calendar, maybe not as far as the weather may be concerned!), we've been on the lookout for awesome lesson ideas and classroom experiences that you can share with your kiddos. Julie's site is a definite 'go-to' resource when we're on the hunt for new activities and we loved these math center ideas!
Produce Addition
Students are invited to match pairs of produce items, then use the dots on each pair of fruits/vegetables to create, record, and solve an addition problem!
Watermelon Counting
This activity tests your kiddos' ability to count by 10s. Students are provided with watermelon cutouts of different colors, each containing a different number dots, and invited to count the dots by 10.
Spring Patterning
Provided with unifix cubes and a recording sheet, students are invited to make four different patterns AABB, AAB, ABB, and ABC!
We know your kiddos will have a blast with these centers! Be sure to visit Mrs. Lee's Kindergarten for these and other great ideas!
